Öhlins Distribution & Test Center (ÖDTC) is looking for an Area Sales Representative

As a branch to Öhlins Racing AB, Öhlins Distribution & Test Center located near to the Nürburgring in Germany is responsible for providing distribution, sales and marketing, customer support and technical service to its customers in over 20 countries throughout central Europe (www.ohlins.eu). 

ÖDTC is offering the opportunity for a self-motivated and passionate individual to join its team and assist with maintaining and increasing sales of our company’s products.  The role is ideal for someone that has experience as a technical sales person and is looking to focus his or her skills in the area of suspension.  Therefore, if you have experience in this area and looking for a new challenge, then please read on…  

Area Sales Representative

The successful candidate will work in general as an Area Sales Representative for the Sales & Marketing department at Öhlins Distribution and Test Center, covering three main business areas; motorcycle, automotive and mountain bike for Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH).

As an Area Sales Representative, you will proactively approach new and existing customers.  Contact will be mainly by phone and so good telephone skills are essential.  Periodic visits by travelling to meet with customers face-to-face is also an important aspect of this role.  You will be expected to establish, maintain and expand your customer base according to strategic plans from management.  This will include reaching targets and goals set for your area.  You shall have experience and/or a passion for motorcycles, cars and mountain bikes.  A basic level of technical knowledge how suspension functions on a vehicle is important.  For more in-depth technical questions, you will refer these to the relevant people within our organisation.

As a member of the Sales & Marketing department, you will assist with increasing business opportunities through various routes to market, in terms of both B2B and B2C.  You will work closely with Aftersales to build brand loyalty with existing customers and proactively search for new customers where needed.  Support towards the marketing department and attendance at events is also expected; therefore, the candidate should be prepared to work weekends and longer than usual hours on such occasions.

The role shall also include collecting customer feedback and market research, plus keeping up to date with products and competitors.

In this position, you report to the Product Sales Managers for motorcycle, automotive and mountain bike.

The candidate shall be professional in appearance and a good communicator, both orally and written.  It is a prerequisite to be fluent in German and have basic knowledge of English as a minimum.
