The Project Office at Öhlins Racing is responsible for the management of development projects, both for the factory OEM customers and for aftermarket driven projects. Caroline Tjeder holds the position as Project Manager.
The project teams at Öhlins consist of cross functional skill sets. The team members represent various disciplines, such as design engineering, testing, purchasing and production engineering.
Caroline has previously worked with design engineering, project management and product planning. At Öhlins, she can benefit from her experience in her role as Project Manager.
-As Project Manager, it is my responsibility to lead the project team and to ensure that the project goals set are reached in a given lead time, at a given cost and with a high quality. A key aspect to succeed is to provide the team with the right conditions in order for it to work as efficiently as possible. Reaching this state is highly rewarding!
-It is inspiring to witness the different angles and approaches made by the individual team members when solving a problem. You notice the strong commitment at Öhlins; many of our employees are really passionate about their work!
The OEM projects require close customer involvement.
-One of the highlights is the testing on track days. Since track testing time is limited, it is essential to get the most information out of it. To do so, careful planning is required as well as close cooperation between the Öhlins test crew and the complete customer team. Results come at once and the customer’s feedback and response are immediate. This is intense, in both an exciting and challenging way.
Speaking of challenges, that is something that Caroline embraces:
-At Öhlins I have the opportunity to influence, implement and follow up on new ways of working. Taking an active part in the work with continuous improvement of our internal processes is challenging and also rewarding.
